Surt Rounded Font Family

Surt Rounded Font Family is a vintage & round sans serif font family manufactured by Blaze Type. This is the Rounded version of Surt, the Norse inspired font family. While the Rounded version brings a more “playful” aspect to the font, Surt and its strong structure in a circular kind of terminal endings still bring some toughness to any layout.

This typeface family, inspired by Norse mythology and Scandinavian Architecture, draws a bridge between a geometric sans and a human process in the whole shape design. Surt Rounded’s Norse-like character set will allow text layouts to have this unusual corkiness which make it so particular and so comfortable to read. The rounded Norse inspired glyphs’ width are shaped in such a way that they operate a discrete rupture in the text rhythmic. Surt also draws inspiration in geometrical shapes found in geometric fonts.
While the history of geometric fonts can be traced back to the early days of the modernist movement in the early twentieth century. Surt’s inspiration is more contemporary and in link to strong brutalist architecture than historical geometric or even neo grotesque like fonts.
