Font Approval

Uploading fonts to this website is not automatically approved. It is a curated process where every submitted font is carefully reviewed. Certain general criteria are applied to ensure the quality, legality, and usefulness of the shared fonts. Below are some important criteria:

1. Technical Quality

  • Completeness: The font must be fully designed, including at least one set of characters from A-z.
  • Accuracy: The font’s strokes must be precisely drawn, without errors, distortions, or overlaps. Kerning (spacing between characters) and leading (spacing between lines) must be adjusted appropriately to ensure good readability.
  • Display Compatibility: The font must display well across multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), web browsers, and devices (computers, phones, tablets).
  • Format: The font should be provided in common formats such as OTF (OpenType) or TTF (TrueType).

2. Aesthetic Quality

  • Uniqueness: The font must have a distinct style, avoiding imitation or excessive similarity to existing fonts.
  • Description: A detailed description of the font’s style, intended use, and related information must be provided.
  • Illustrative Images/Previews: At least one illustration or preview image showing the font in practical use is required. The images must be clear and professional. The ratio between height and width should not be excessively imbalanced.

3. Copyright Compliance

  • Ownership Rights: The author must ensure full ownership of the font and the right to share it.
  • License: The font must include a clear license description outlining usage terms, such as free for personal use or requiring payment for commercial use.

If you are an author looking to upload your font to Befonts, carefully review these criteria. Doing so will increase your chances of acceptance and help you share your font with the community.

With appreciation, thank you for the incredible fonts you contribute!
