Cafeteria Display Font

Cafeteria Display Font began in 1992 as an experiment in rhythm and irregularity, inspired largely by the hand lettering of his friend Chris Vermaas. Frere-Jones took special care to balance activity with legibility, drawing a freeform sans serif that is condensed but in never stiff.
