Agse Font

Agse Font – From time to time, designer Vladimir Kolomeytsev shares a small text piece in the Playfaces Telegram chat and invites its participants to create lettering based on it. One of such samples, taken from a 1917 book’s cover, served as a prototype for Agse. Having mixed the character of the historic prototype with modern-day calligraphy and the plasticity of Art Nouveau type, Anse grew into a narrow old-style serif characterised by its extremely slanted ovals, swinging in different directions, and grasping vertical serifs.

Agse is a headline typeface that works well paired with a quieter serif or sans text face. Unafraid of experiments, it will look great shadowed or bordered.
