Associate Slab Stencil Font Family is designed by Jérémie Hornus and Alisa Nowak. Associate Slab Stencil is an extension of the Associate Slab design for use in headlines and logos. The Associate Slab Stencil letters are generally monolinear. The ‘stencil’ optic that the characters all have comes from breaks, or ‘bridges,’ applied to parts of each letter. If you were to create real stencils from these fonts, those would be necessary elements for maintaining each letterform’s stability. Associate Slab Stencil’s bridge-elements are not that wide, however. They do not detract from their underlying characters. Each of the family’s five weights – from ExtraLight through Bold – has a companion italic font available. These italic fonts are ‘obliques;’ they differentiate texts set in them by their slant. On FontStore, you can find all of the other font families from the Associate Type System, too, including Associate Sans, Associate Sans Stencil, and even Associate Sans Mono.
