Latina Popular Font is a typeface that celebrates the richness of Latin American typographic culture, drawing inspiration from Peruvian vernacular signage, popularly known as Chicha.
The purpose of this project is to promote Latin typography by supporting designers who seek authentic typefaces to de-velop their work in a market that still offers limited options within this aesthetic. This font presents itself as an accessible alternative that remains true to the cultural roots that inspired it.
Because of its popular origins, I decided to distribute it for free. The idea is to spread our typographic heritage-extremely rich and diverse-and to encourage creativity across its countless applications.
