The name “Merak” is inspired by the traditional dance that originates from West Java, Tari Merak. Tari Merak is a dance based of the animal itself, known as “Merak” or “peacock”. The dance was created to express the beauty of a peacock. For the same reason, this font was created also to appreciate and express the beauty of this underrated traditional dance.
