Monoita Font

Monoita Font – Typeface inspired in the Inselberg park from Quixadá, Brazil. The font is born from all the shapes, curves and movements of the remarking natural formations and rich fauna and flora from the region.

This font was developed for a university project for the typography curriculum component, for the digital design bachelor\’s degree, at the federal university of Ceará, with the guidance of Jose Neto de Faria.

The name derives from \”mono\” and \”ita\”, mono meaning single and is present in the world monolith (\”monólito\” in portuguese, a popular name given to the inselbergs, and \”ita\” meaning rock and stone in Old Tupi.
