Romano Revival Font is a typeface developed as a university project in collaboration with a team of classmates back in 2023. We were tasked with reviving a 1914 font, working exclusively from photographs of aged pages taken from an original type specimen book where the design appeared.
Rooted in pure Art Nouveau aesthetics, Romano Revival features soft curved terminals, medium elegant tall proportions, and a refined vertical rhythm. It combines extremely thin hairlines with robust strokes, creating a dramatic contrast reminiscent of Didot. The result is a contemporary reinterpretation that preserves the ornamental delicacy and expressive elegance of its early twentieth century origins.
