Belagak Font, a modern minimalist typeface infused with a subtle touch of my local roots. Rather than leaning into overt traditional or tribal aesthetics, Belagak translates cultural cues into a clean and contemporary visual language.
Its sharp pointed terminals take inspiration from the Tanggai nail adornments featured in Tari Tanggai, a traditional dance from Palembang, Indonesia. The slanted stance and graceful curves echo the gentle waves of the Musi River, giving the letterforms a sense of motion and fluidity.
Visually, Belagak doesn’t chase tribal aesthetics or heavy cultural ornaments. Instead, it embraces a clean, contemporary direction — making it particularly suitable for display use, branding, editorial headlines, and modern design compositions where a hint of personality goes a long way without overwhelming the layout.
