PT Serif Font Family

PT Serif Font Family is a transitional serif typeface developed by ParaType as part of the “Public Types of the Russian Federation” project. Designed by Alexandra Korolkova, Olga Umpeleva, and Vladimir Yefimov, it was released in 2010 to complement the PT Sans family, sharing harmonized metrics, proportions, and design features that make the two fonts work well together in mixed typography.

The font family includes multiple styles — such as regular, bold, italic, and bold italic — along with caption versions optimized for better legibility at small sizes. PT Serif’s letterforms are characterized by a large x-height, modest stroke contrast, and well-defined wedge-like serifs with humanistic terminals, giving it a classic yet contemporary feel that enhances readability across print and digital contexts.

Supporting both Latin and Cyrillic scripts, the typeface is versatile for multilingual use, making it suitable for editorial design, books, magazines, branding, websites, and other professional typography projects. Released under an open font license, PT Serif is widely available for both personal and commercial use.
