PF Centro Serif Font Family is a classic and assertive serif font. Other characteristics like the abrupt cuts at the joints add an interesting flair to Centro Serif but they are functional as well since they compensate for over-inking at small sizes. In order to balance the effect of the strong angular serifs, ‘tear-shaped’ ball terminals were introduced to letters like ‘c’, ‘f’ and ‘y’ whereas triangular letters like ‘v’, ‘w’ come with a pronounced stroke shape. Finally, Centro Serif was designed with a slightly inclined stress and a larger than usual x-height to make it more legible at small sizes. Overall, this is a robust, low contrast typeface with distinct personality which has become very popular among printed media and is ideal choice for newspapers, magazines and corporate applications. A contemporary type family working across three alphabets, Latin, Greek and Cyrillic, Centro Serif is also an award-winning typeface. It has received a Gold Award from the European Design Awards and an Excellence Award from the Cyrillic Type Design Competition. Finally, every single style in this family has been completed with a large number of copyright-free symbols for packaging, public areas, environment, transportation, computers, fabric care and urban life. Centro was originally released as PF Agora but immediately after renamed Centro.
