Objektiv Sans Serif Font is characterised by a lot of details, which gives it a strong character. Its designer, Bruno Mello, followed the principles of mathematical structures but didn’t forget that this is a typeface intended to be used by humans.
For centuries, ever since calligraphic letterforms evolved into type, people have tried to rationalize the lines and curves of letter shapes into geometric forms. But even the designers of the Bauhaus era, with their purist search for form which follows function, ultimately acknowledged that ‘form following function’ can never be achieved by pure geometry, but always requires harmonious proportions.
